Hautapu BuildLink began its ‘life’ as Hautapu Rural Supplies in April 2009. It opened as a farm fencing and farm timber supplies merchant, but over the years has added in new product areas to service the town and surrounding regions of Taihape.

In addition to farm fencing and farm timber supplies, our store stocks a wide array of building products including hardware, paints, electrical supplies, power tools, plumbing supplies and more. We also have a garden centre with an ever-changing selection of plants plus a comprehensive selection of garden tools and plant care products. 

We offer a glass glazing service and can replace not only windows but also mirrors (including automotive mirrors), fire door glass and glass for picture frames.

Another area of expertise is the construction of farm sheds and buildings. We have excellent relationships with local builders and can supply customers with a ‘kitset’ or we can arrange everything from consents to construction.

Shortly after opening in 2009, Hautapu Rural Supplies joined a buying group called BuildLink, a collective of independent businesses with a central office that negotiates deals with suppliers. Being a member of BuildLink enabled Hautapu Rural Supplies to get better pricing and supply options than what it could have achieved by itself.

In 2026 the business was re-branded to Hautapu BuildLink, but it remains the same independently owned business which prides itself on servicing the needs of its community.
